Aeropress Standard

To get started, you'll need the following:

- Aeropress

- Aeropress paper filter

- Freshly roasted coffee beans

- Kettle

- Digital scale

- Timer

- Gooseneck pouring kettle (optional but recommended)

1. Place the Aeropress on top of the mug or carafe.

2. Add the 15 grams of freshly ground medium-course coffee into the Aeropress.

3. Start a timer and pour just enough hot water (about 30 ml or grams) to saturate the coffee grounds. Stir gently to ensure even saturation. Allow the coffee to bloom for about 30 seconds.

4. After the bloom, slowly pour the remaining hot water (about 195 ml or grams) into the Aeropress. Stir gently to mix the grounds and water.

5. Attach the plunger to the Aeropress but do not press down. Let the coffee steep for about 1 minute and 30 seconds.

6. After the steeping time, apply gentle and even pressure on the plunger, pushing the coffee through the filter into the mug or carafe. Aim to complete the press in about 20-30 seconds.
